So Holzman decided to attempt some counterprogramming. He launchedFaith250, an interfaith movement of churches, synagogues and mosques across the country that would celebrate America’s birthday by gathering believers to discuss and honor the Declaration of Independence and other examples of “America’s sacred texts.”
